Early morning, depart for the island outpost of Saparua, sailing along the scenic north coast of Ambon. Disembark en route at the coastal town of Hila to explore the old Dutch fortification, Fort Amsterdam. Continue onto Saparua, where a host of water activities await. Discover local pottery-making at Ouw village, visit a local market, see European relics, explore bird habitats or go diving before departing Saparua for an overnight crossing to Banda Islands.

Approach the Banda Islands as the sun rises, greeted by KoraKora war canoes as the boat enters the harbor. Stroll through history at the Dutch Fort Belgica on Banda Neira, once the most hotly contested island in the world in the 16th and 17th century, and learn about the colorful story of the Old World spice trade.

Spend the day exploring the oldest nutmeg plantations in the world, learning about the cultivation and history of the spice. Hike the active volcano of Gunung Banda Api. In this remote part of Indonesia, experience local life with traditions unchanged for decades before departing Banda Harbour at night.

Savour a sunrise breakfast on board against the backdrop of 300-metre tall cliffs of Pulau Manuk, a volcanic island rising 3 kilometres from the seabed. This is a haven for fish-hunting birds, as well as sea snakes and reef sharks flocking to enjoy the area’s underwater thermal springs. After sundown, cruise northwards to Pulau Run, a historic island traded by the British for Manhattan in 1667.

Arrive at Pulau Run, the westernmost of the Banda Islands, at sunrise. Swim, fish, snorkel and dive in the crystal-clear waters, or go on village tours, trekking and birding. Attempt to search for the ruins of an old British fort before arriving at a pristine beach where a cocktail party awaits.

On the north side of Nusa Laut, bike through the scenic fishing villages of Ameth and Akon. This is also home of the dugong, the Southeast Asian cousin of the American manatee and a vulnerable species. Cruise to Molana Island, a small but heavily forested island with fantastic reefs.

BOOKING POLICY
For Confirmed Bookings:
A deposit of US$ 500 per person is required to confirm the booking.
Reservations made 90 days or less prior to departure: A full, nonrefundable payment is required to confirm the booking.

a) Reservations made 90 days or less prior to departure: A full, non-refundable payment is required to confirm the booking.
b) Reservations made 91 days or more before departure: A deposit of US$ 500 per person is required to confirm the booking. The final balance is required 90 days prior to departure. If the payment is not received on time, the space(s) will be automatically released.
GROUP RESERVATIONS & PAYMENTS (8 PAX OR MORE)
a) Reservations made 121 days or more prior todeparture: An initial deposit of US $500 per person is required to confirm the booking, with a second deposit of US$ 400 per person 120 days before departure. The final balance is required 90 days prior to departure.
b) Reservations made 120 days to 91 days prior todeparture: A deposit of US$ 800 per person is required to confirm the booking. The final balance is required 90 days prior to departure.
c) Reservations made 90 days or less prior to departure: A full, non-refundable payment is required to confirm the booking.
ONLINE/EMAIL/PHONE RESERVATIONS CANCELLATION POLICY**
a) For Cancellations made 121 days or more before departure: The deposit will be refunded, less a US $300 service charge per person, plus third-party credit card charges of approx. 4% of the total cruise ticket price per person (if applicable).
b) For Cancellations made 120 to 91 days prior to departure: All deposits are non-refundable.
c) For Cancellations made 90 days or less prior to departure: Full payment will be applied as the cancellation penalty.
WATER LEVELS & ITINERARIES
Itineraries are subject to change due to weather conditions and time of year and thus, navigation times and excursions may need to be modified at the captain’s discretion. All times indicated are approximate and are also subject to change. At times embarkation and disembarkation points for guests may need to be modified. We will make every possible attempt to minimize disruption to travel plans. Aqua Expeditions will make every reasonable attempt to cover cost of transferring guests to and from original port of embarkation.
MEDICAL AND HEALTH
Guests should be in good physical health in order to be able to make the most of their cruise. Exploring the area involves the use of small, motorized skiffs and zodiacs and at times may include some wet landings. Daily excursions may include walking on irregular terrain and getting in and out of the skiffs and zodiacs occasionally requires some physical effort. Walking excursions may last up to one hour or more. Malaria medication and yellow fever shots are not required for travelers coming into any region we operate in; however, they are recommended. Please consult your physician.
TRIP CANCELATION INSURANCE
Travelers are strongly advised to purchase trip cancellation insurance, which will reimburse the cost of air tickets and other non-refundable trip payments. International medical, baggage loss, and delay insurance are also recommended. Aqua Expeditions assumes no liability for lost or stolen personal belongings.
VESSEL REPLACEMENT
Aqua Expeditions reserves the right to substitute another vessel if considered necessary (i.e., force majeure or mechanical failure).
If the travelers do not take this option, Aqua Expeditions reserves the right to cancel the trip upon a refund pro rata per cruise night not used or, as an alternative, will offer credit toward a future cruise on any Aqua Expeditions cruise.
DIETARY NEEDS
Aqua Expeditions should be contacted at least 30 days prior to embarkation regarding travelers’ specific dietary needs. Every effort will be made to cater to special dietary needs, and to accommodate special requests, subject to a given product’s availability.
TRAVELERS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
Travelers have responsibilities toward both their fellow passengers and the Aqua Expeditions’ crew. Every passenger should review the conditions contained in the trip itinerary, observe all safety requirements on board and on excursions, and act in an appropriate and respectful manner toward the crew members
and their fellow travelers.
